1. What We Collect

• Account information (email, authentication details; Google sign-in if you choose it)
• Profile and social content (display name, bio, photos, posts, comments, likes, friends, messages)
• Vehicle and ownership records (VIN, make/model/year, mileage, service, financing, and related history)
• Uploaded documents and images (receipts, invoices, garage photos)
• Billing-related data handled by Stripe (subscription status, customer ID; not full card numbers)
• Usage data needed to operate Premium features (for example AI request quotas)

2. How We Use Your Data

• To run GarageIQ: your garage, social feed, messaging, and account settings
• To provide Premium features such as insights, document tools, and the AI assistant
• To process payments and manage subscriptions
• To send essential account notices (for example verification or security-related email)
• To prevent abuse, debug issues, and improve reliability

3. Who We Share With

We do not sell your personal information for advertising. We use trusted processors to operate the Service:

• Supabase: database, authentication, file storage, and edge functions
• Vercel: application hosting
• Stripe: Premium checkout, billing, and customer portal
• OpenAI: server-side AI features (for example Smart Upload extraction and the AI assistant)
• Google: only if you sign in with Google

These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and security practices.

4. Social Visibility

GarageIQ includes social features. Content you post, your profile details, and limited garage information may be visible to friends or other signed-in users depending on the feature and your settings. Private vehicle documents and detailed records are intended for your account unless you choose to share them.

5. AI Processing

When you use AI features, relevant content (such as uploaded document images or vehicle context you provide) may be sent to OpenAI through our servers so we can return results. We do not use that processing to sell ads or build advertising profiles. Avoid uploading documents you do not want processed by an AI provider.

6. Your Choices

• Update profile and privacy-related settings in the app
• Manage or cancel Premium through the Stripe billing portal in Subscription Management
• Delete your account in Profile (this removes your GarageIQ data we control; Stripe/Google may retain records as required by their policies or law)
• Contact us at admin@garageiq.app for access or deletion requests

7. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as needed. The current version will always be available at /privacy.
